First heard of this band listening to the Making New Enemies compilations. I had to download everything they put out.
Walter Mitty and his Makeshift Orchestra is the opposite of melancholia. Their songs are vibrant, light hearted, and incredibly written.
The vocalist is a wordsmith with an addictive candy voice. I swear you won’t want to stop listening to their voice. Every track feels just as warm as the last. I’m avoiding the cliche and running away from campfire music, cause it deserves ten times more. So maybe I’ll say “playing around the largest fire in the entire world…a safe fire. a well controlled large fire. And they’re playing in front of it or something.”
This is Breathe Funny, a song off of their brand new record “Well Soon.” An album that features this band at it’s best. They nailed these songs.
This is the western coast of everything I know,
the fatal flaw, the coming doom.
This is why you breathe funny
when you try to fall asleep,
why you feel alone at your parents’ home, tar in your throat,
shining most everyone you know.
No, I don’t believe I can love anymore.
Doing Laundry at 2:41 AM causes me to take stock of the goals that I’m not accomplishing, from small things like cleaning my room to larger tasks like succeeding in school.
But hey, the new Walter Mitty album rules.
